Spaze Labs / Independent software studio

A home for useful software.

We build apps and tools that reduce everyday effort. Spaze Labs is a home for different products and ideas, across the ways we live and work.

01 / The studio

One studio.
Room for many ideas.

We take software ideas from exploration through design and development. Our ambition is a range of products shaped around real tasks, with room to learn and improve as each one takes shape.

02 / Projects

Currently building.

Connected work in nutrition, training and personal records, within a wider studio.

In development

Home-cooked meal logging

Cooking a shared dish shouldn’t mean rebuilding the same meal entry each time.

We’re developing food logging with fewer repeated steps, reusable recipes and a way to account for each person’s portion. A cooking voice workflow is also in development.

Still being built and refined. Not yet available to download.

Concept / Planned recipe flow
  1. Save a recipeKeep the ingredients together.
  2. Share the dishChoose the portion you ate.
  3. Log the mealReuse the recipe next time.

Working personal prototype

Workout tracking

A record of what happened in a session, alongside the routine you planned to follow.

The prototype supports versioned routines and logging actual workout performance. Sauna sessions can be recorded on their own, independently of a workout.

Currently used and refined as a personal prototype.

Personal prototype

Personal health dashboard

Bring weight, nutrition and exercise records together to see progress over time.

Current work focuses on organising these personal records into one view, so activity and changes are easier to review together.

An evolving personal prototype for reviewing records.

The workout tracker and dashboard are related parts of one personal-health project. These projects are being developed and explored; they are not public releases.

03 / How we build

Care in the details.

Decisions that guide the work, from the first sketch onward.

Reduce repeat work.

Look for what people enter or do again, then design a way to carry it forward.

Make the next step clear.

Use plain language, readable screens and choices that explain themselves.

Refine around the task.

Test how a flow works, keep what helps and simplify the parts that get in the way.
